No pun intended.
But check out the list there. John Arby, King of Arby's is a gag that @capriciouscapra cooked up once upon a tweet. Creepy Dave's bestfavourites animal is an intermittent short format video series from zefrank - y'know, "Here we will explore true facts about the-" guy? RCR, well... the clue's right there in the name, you clearly know Roman's Regular Car Reviews.
I'm like a really good SNL writer. I'm funnier when I've got someone else's framework to bounce around in; when there's something to focus the tendency to shitpost. I'm good - if you'll forgive a moment's ego - at adapting to a tone or a particular flow of speech, and writing dialogue comes naturally to me, which is kinda useful. When thinking about that from the perspective of jokes or gags, being able to pick up on someone else's style and just riff on it for a while? Yeah, it's fun.
Watch a night where I get fuckin' blasted and just shitpost non-stop. Some of the jokes I'll throw out there are good, but it's very much a hose effect, one stupid thought after another, waiting to see what'll stick. With someone else's material in mind I find it a lot easier to focus the gags and narrow down to what I can see will stick the landing.
John Arby, King of Arby's is always a delight when I can nail the tone, though. He's a tough one to really get the hang of but when you find the turn of phrase to sell a John Arby joke you'll know it.
jesus herbert walker christ i just re-read this and my god the ego pouring off of this, but... if you laughed i'm right
