Narrator: And now, Djinnified Hospital, the continuing stoooooorrrry of a former Organic Chemist who's been lost to the bottom of a bottle.
🔞 I say lots of heck words and post questionable smut. Stick around if that's your thing, but if you're below legal age to view such things in your jurisdiction, kindly go someplace else.
🚜 Bob Semple was right.
Narrator: And now, Djinnified Hospital, the continuing stoooooorrrry of a former Organic Chemist who's been lost to the bottom of a bottle.
Waldorf: I'm stuck in this dundjin with you anyway doh ho ho ho doh ho ho ho balcony has a camel magically dropped on it
Statler, from beneath the camel: Must be our tea. Did you ask for one lump or two?
Now I'm imagining a huge poster right outside Phorm's room with "AVOID Second-hand smoking".
"Thank you for smoking. By which we mean, becoming smoke."
This is absolutely wonderful and brings a smile to my face. Thank you so much. <3
The Muppet format provides a safe and easy vehicle for terrible jokes.
This particular segment certainly did have a unique cadence!
Not sure if a genie Muppet would fly, though. Felt and smoke. Hard to combine.
Hmmmm, it could have been done with contemporary special effects, but it would have been super expensive. Maybe in one of the movies
You know, the word "genie" is derived from "genius" (the Roman tutelary spirit).
We're not sure where "djinn" came from, but the guy who translated the Arabian Nights into French thought it sounded like the French word for genius so he used that.
Yeah!! I have always been fascinated by that mutation of language. Also, that same person who did the initial French Translation apparently made up the Aladdin story wholesale.
The mythos and terms got further warped in the 1960s and 1970s, giving us the more pop culture conception of the genie that we have today, rather than the deep mythical concept of the djinn.
Imagining this was a real treat. Firstly I love the muppets and muppety shenanigans and mayhem, but also, I now have the image of a muppet version of Phorm wearing a lab coat and head mirror, with genie garb clearly visible underneath, stuck in my head >u< And... that's an unspeakably cute image ^///^
I love the Muppets so very much, and that image makes my heart warm as well <3 I wish I could be anything even remotely as cute as that image!
Ahhh, same~ Alas, we have the burden of being cute in other (usually) less poly-filled ways ;)
