๐Ÿ”ž I say lots of heck words and post questionable smut. Stick around if that's your thing, but if you're below legal age to view such things in your jurisdiction, kindly go someplace else.
๐Ÿšœ Bob Semple was right.

If Cohost goes under, don't expect me to be anywhere else. I'll intermittently retweet porn from behind a locked Twitter account that already exists, but I'm not bothering with the Bluesky experience of 'we just wanted Twitter again,' and I don't need the Mastodon HOA telling me off for not tagging grass. I'm so tired of wandering from place to place, I think I just... won't?

It's non-trivial, but honestly, except for growing an audience, nothing beats a personal website where you just publish whatever you want however you want. One of the reasons that I post so infrequently is that "it should be a blog post."

That said, Mastodon is a tradeoff. You get servers with crappy moderation, and random people who think that they moderate. But the federation aspect means that the network will be available as long as someone cares enough to run a server.

The more extreme tradeoff is something like Scuttebutt, which...I haven't logged on in forever, because I spent a few years on a computer that couldn't manage everything locally, but it's so distributed that it's offline-accessible at the expense of a complete lack of moderation...
