πŸ”ž I say lots of heck words and post questionable smut. Stick around if that's your thing, but if you're below legal age to view such things in your jurisdiction, kindly go someplace else.
🚜 Bob Semple was right.

what if a goofy joke was a goofy joke rather than another opportunity to correct a stranger

And no, it's nothing anyone's done to me, but folks really gotta stop seeing a jape, jibe, jest, or josh, as an invitation to immediately start with, "In actual fact, taking this example to its logical extreme-" oh god oh fuck here come the slides

Like, imagine you mention The Young Ones, and someone on this here webbed site pops up to go, "In likelihood given how the four of them live, the studs in Vyvyan's forehead would very probably get infected" do people not have a little voice that tells them how they sound anymore????

I sometimes wonder if that sort of behavior breaks along the same lines as the people who seem to only get involved in conversations to bring them to an end as soon as possible. In both cases, the goal seems to be to somehow both climb into a conversation and avoid interacting with people.

Maybe the world needs a Mister Rogers-style song about how, before you open your mouth (or keyboard), try asking yourself where you expect the conversation to go after you say your thing...

I'm always a little curious how much of it is a kind of socially-inept read of a situation that needs 'answering,' and how often it's a more deliberate 'I win!' over a conversation that someone feels the urge to master and shut down.

"Maybe the world needs a Mister Rogers-" perfect. No notes.
