Sometimes I think that when people spend a lot of free time in highly curated internet bubbles, they forget that they are vastly outnumbered by mainstream audiences who engage with entertainment or pop culture in an entirely different way.
Essentially, yeah. "Oh it's bad and lacks artistic merit-" yeah and Jack Black is gonna be able to buy an island, whatever.
Real! I 100% get the complaints, but at the same time, the target audience for this movie is clearly 7-12 year old kids and their clueless parents. One of the most lucrative demographics in existence.
i feel like people see cheap/cringy stuff as a kid, don't realize it was cheap/cringy at the time because they're kids, grow up to nostalgically revere that stuff, and then lose their minds at the kids media that comes out when they're adults
