who is this show even for? god, i wanted to love it. season one was fun, spritely, hopeful star trek (with a fucking stupid finale, but that's here nor there).
season two thus far can be summed up thus far in the likely reactions of two audience blocs:
- kids: "who is this guy that's been speaking for three minutes?"
- adults: "why the fuck is this guy speaking for three minutes?"
introducing legacy characters only really works if your audience knows who they are or gives a fuck about them.
