There doesn't seem to be any evidence that Colgate ever brought suit against Nicholas Walstrom, much less that he won and established an important fair use precedent. At least, nothing is coming up on CourtListener, which is usually a good source of primary documentation on these sorts of things.
i have been misinformed. makes me wonder where/when the actual systemic change that made youtube poop suddenly viable happened then...
