Back to our regularly scheduled, no-longer-Christmassy Worldwide Music Wednesday, here's some Egyptian trap! Couple notes on it:
- The artist, Dina El Wedidi, has been around for quite some time and has had quite the genre journey, from sedate jazz (what she was best known for most of her career, to experimental electronic, and now this hard swerve into the now. Given how much turn-of-the-century hip-hop borrowed from Middle Eastern music, it's interesting to hear the cultural influence flow the other way.
- That piano line is a little Linkin Park, isn't it?
- That album art is a little vaporwave, isn't it?
- This completely bangs.
