2024 reading log pt. 8
was not reading a lot in June and consequently spent the whole month slowly meandering through The Big Nowhere after having just finished The Black Dahlia in a matter of days. I did end up finishing the back quarter in one extended sitting though. will wait a bit before going back for L.A. Confidential all the same.
followed up that and the Tomie omnibus with some quick ones - a very short Ballard novella (-ette?) and the comic adaptations of two Manchette stories I've previously read (The Prone Gunman and The Mad and the Bad, here under the titles Like a Sniper Lining Up His Shot and Run Like Crazy, Run Like Hell, respectively) - still bangers in this format, especially the latter. getting the tru immersive experience reading about the hitman being driven insane by his horrible ulcers while experiencing my own gut agonies rn
