All thanks to VGMaps.com and hours of specific, slightly weird work. Check em out:

It's a gallery that I sort randomly once in a while. You can just download them all with the link at the top. All of the files are named after the games themselves, so you can always check the source. I think they look good - I've been using them for years now, and I just added 80 more. They work well on mobile too, at least on my android - i have multiple home pages so the scrolling effect is neat.

I'm doing them alphabetically over the years, and I'm about midway through S now. There are a lot of fucking S games.

My process is:

  • copy the image off of VGMaps and paste it into paint.net
  • crop it down to the part I want
  • scale it perfectly (i.e. only in multiples of 100% so that the pixels don't ever get weird) so that it's at least 4K in both dimensions.
  • copy/paste the scaled version onto a 3840x2160 canvas and move it around until it looks right. This usually involves some trial and error at finding the best place to crop it, kind of like taking a photo.

Here are some of my favorites:

Here's a link at the bottom so you don't have to scroll up again too: https://cania.neocities.org/snes/
