i'm watching the harder they come right now, which is a really good movie! i grew up listening to pressure drop by toots and the maytals 'cause my dad loves that song, and while i knew it was in this movie i had no idea it was such a marginal part of the soundtrack (i think it just shows up in the background of this one scene with a lot going on in it, so you'd barely even pick up on it if this wasn't the kind of movie where the soundtrack is so attention-grabbing). just kind of an interesting thing i was thinkin about
pretty good show in terms of like getting better at spanish (guess how many languages i know multiple homophobic slurs in now) and its got like really interesting parts (mostly the ones centering on escobar) but good LORD does this show have the most unlikeable bland and annoying protagonist ive ever fucking seen. like imagine if hank was the main character of breaking bad instead of walter. imagine how much worse the show would be. thats what this show is except this guy is an even less interesting character thank hank to the point where i dont even think he would work as like a side character. like how the fuck do u have the guy as a consultant on ur fucking show and somehow make him look like this much of a prick
been listening to this song of his lately, and i really really enjoy it - part of it is that the instrumental is good, and also it features open mike eagle, who i always enjoy on tracks with paul barman, but i also really do love the latter's performance on this one! i think busta rhymes has a track built out of the same sample as this one.
