as a general rule i use discord as a (infrequent) DM service and avoid communities as much as possible, but recently i've been thinking of sigh joining the official NGS community for the sole purpose of asking for base game support. a thing i've noticed in the last month is that Playstation players are hitting a gear progression wall around level 85--it's hard to acquire gear that's capable of UH level content. The Rising Weapon badge exchange and *15 collection folders help a bit, but getting craftable gear like Trailblazer or Klauz units (let alone augmenting them) is a struggle. And even smaller things like finding affordable crafted techs or skill rings on the player shops is hard now, with Cradle inflation existing and tech crafting just being....the absolute worst to learn on your own. RIP

i have no desire to interact with "the community" as it exists on Discord, though, and ime official discords are the worst offenders when it comes to passive-aggressively begging for people to engage in meaningless activity. i really just want to post a message saying "please add buster medals and mission badges to Cradle/Drawn to Darkness, and give some unit freebies to Playstation players" every few weeks until these things are done or i am banned for bot behavior. idc

as someone who also really only uses discord when forced, i wish you the best of luck.

ratmut on twitter has a whole doc of stuff like this: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1eSHaKYEbOLp_hzXqSJKEWLmWEAmCezgTPnOy90gQCVw/edit?usp=sharing i don't think sega has even really acknowledged any of this. even just getting regular access to mission badges would be a huge upgrade.

if i was trying to gear a new account today... i'm actually not totally sure what i'd do. maybe try and get a fluxio? i don't particularly care for challenge quests though. as for units... without ready access to rwb from divides for novel units or persona triggers the best option is probably trying for the ofze 13* upgrade. and it's not a good option.

oh and some point shortly after the ngs launch - without announcing it - they made tech crafting achievement requirements lower. this helps but it's still a very long process. you can also advertise crafting services... but there's only three slots to advertise recipes in, and it's an obscure feature that's difficult to discover and use.

i wish any of this was better, because i really like the base game, and i want other people to like it too. i don't really have a better course of action than to complain loudly and hope, though.
