I‘m glad that the fans of the Battle Network series are so outspoken about their love for these games nowadays, because from my experience from way back in the day when they were new and I wanted to talk with people about them online, I always seemed to get the old farts who were upset about Capcom daring to make an Action RPG + Trading Card game-inspired combat mix with an anime artstyle, and that they should „ditch the animu bullshit and go back to classic Mega Man“ (which also has an anime artstyle, btw!)
which actually made me resent classic Mega Man for a bit, because from what I saw, it seemed to be like the only Mega Man-related bit that was even tolerated back then
