so fuck it, I'm just gonna write up what I basically got of my first story idea for my characters. I'll put it under a read more, since it's gonna be a bit long-ish, so it doesn't just clog up everyone's timeline.
My gay furry OCs Jaryl and Jin are travelling the world in their 30s, because they kinda got a bit of a midlife crisis going on with their jobs. So they decided to just say "Fuck it" and go explore the world! See all kinds of different places! Aw yeah, their world is also like a JRPG/Action-Adventure world, so there's lots of unexplored places and wilderness between cities and villages, and there's also a ton of monsters everywhere, so people on their world generally know how to fight, or at least defend themselves from most monsters that get near cities and stuff. I'm still undecided on if their world should be a more modern one like ours, or if it should be in some fantasy medieval times, though.
So anyway, on their world travelling tour, Jaryl and Jin take a quick stop at the little village Cohobryn to restock on supplies, where they also hear some strange rumours about a strange tower that's surrounded by a magic barrier being in relatively close proximity to the village. Some people say that it makes the monsters in the area a lot more aggressive, others say that there's some great treasure and/or powerful magic hidden within. So that catches Jaryl and Jin's attention, and they decide on investigating the tower. And as it turns out, true to Action-Adventure form, the barrier surrounding the tower is being held into place by eight relics that are hidden within eight temples that are hidden across the countryside.
On their travels, they occasionally meet up with other fellow adventurers that they exchange infos with, but then they also get accosted by a mysterious dragon woman who apparently really doesn't want Jin in particular to get inside that tower, and she tries to kill him repeatedly, but Jaryl and Jin can fend her off every time.
And once Jaryl and Jin cleared the final dungeon and dispelled the barrier around the tower, most, if not all of Cohobryn's villagers mysteriously vanish. Only an old wolfman is left, who then tells our heroes that the villagers must've been brought into the tower by someone, so they decide on heading there at once. Inside the tower, they meet up with the dragon woman again, who attempts one final time to kill Jin. And after being stopped yet again, the old wolfman they met in Cohobryn earlier appears and starts explaining that there's way more to Jin than meets the eye, and suggests our heroes to go to the top of the tower, where they will finally hear the truth.
Up on the top of the tower, they find a mysterious book, which reacts to Jin's presence, and the old man explains that Jin is the reincarnation of an ancient, all-powerful creator god, and that the book was one of their belongings. And as Jin steps closer to take the book, the wolfman suddenly tries to kill Jin himself with a sword, and after a brief initial struggle, he then unleashes his true, younger form (where he looks around 40 years old).
During the fight and after it concludes with Jaryl and Jin's victory, the wolfman explains that he's actually thousands of years old, and that he was given the task of finding and killing the reincarnations of the creator god, supposedly for the greater good, but over the years he started to help them get at least part of their abilities back, so the inevitable fight against the reincarnations would bring more excitement to him. And as the wolfman lays dying on the ground, he gives a final warning to Jin that he should be very careful now, since there are a lot of people interested in harnessing the creator god's powers for their own, and that those people are very willing to kill even the reincarnation of the creator god in order to get what they want.
Afterwards, the tower begins to crumble, so Jaryl and Jin have to escape. And as it turns out, the villagers of Cohobryn have all been spirits from people that died a long time ago, that were kept from moving on thanks to the power of the mysterious book that has been kept within the tower, and that the removal of the barrier surrounding the tower also disrupted the book's magic keeping the spirits bound to the village.
And as Jaryl and Jin are standing within the deserted remains of village Cohobryn, talking about what to do next considering the new knowledge they just got, two unknown people start watching them from a distance...
THE END, I GUESS
TO BE CONTINUED, PROBABLY
