It's fascinating that so many popular books are like this. Forget prosody or whatever - there's nothing going on in most of the book! The pacing is so weird, ideas are brought up and then ignored. There's a section where two characters go out drinking, go their separate ways, then meet up again to talk about the same thing they were just talking about
The scenes where the suns destroyed everything were good, I liked the one where gravity sucked everybody into orbit.
