われ「我」used to be "you", now "i"
だれ「誰」who
which kinda make sense in the ko-so-a-do pattern for other this/that/that over there/what noun families in the language. is there, or did there used to be, a され pronoun to fill in the gap?

i'm not sure if they are, but they seem like they almost could be! that's why i'm wondering about the missing され
I don’t know but I can imagine it conflicting too much with される/する.
interesting point. that might also explain why the pronunciation of 我 drifted from あれ to われ, because of the similarity to ある
