Yes, it's about languages that aren't Swift, on a platform I don't work on, but the same principles apply. Up until now nothing we've done as an industry has really made a dent in these problems, and we've been trying really hard. Memory-safe systems languages won't solve every problem, but we finally have a weapon in a fight we've been losing horrifically.

(also, huge kudos to my Rust friends, this is an amazing validation of y'all's work!)

I work for a big chain of coffee shops that you've definitely heard of, maybe patronize, and are most likely aware has been undergoing a country-wide unionization movement for the past year or so. While on Twitter I was always very eager to share the various headlines detailing the victories of the movement and the abuses inflicted upon them by my employer, I was always pretty lowkey about my own experiences. Now I'm ready to spill the beans on my own store's unionization efforts.

Now I wasn't actually around back then, but I looked into some old AD&D stuff recently because I was playing Baldur's Gate for the first time and because DnD circles are abuzz about the new edition playtesting and class balance and such. My brain couldn't help but wikiwalk to it from this post.
