OK, I have a directory full of subdirectories. Each subdir has one file in it. I want to basically move all of those files to a different directory. Could be just moving it up one dir to the main dir, could be moving it somewhere else completely. Doesn't matter, just so long as all the files are in one big dir instead of buried down in these subdirs.

I figured some kind of recursive copy would handle this, but every sort of move or robocopy or xcopy I've tried so far just moves the subdirs over to a new directory structure. I know there's something I'm forgetting, I just can't figure it out. Anyone got any ideas?

are they all the same file format? Assuming your thing is (Root Folder with Many Folders > Each has One File) then you might just able to search in the root folder for, like, *.[filetype], get a big list of every file matching it, and then select and cut/paste?
