it's just a lot easier to make every seat have cheap heat coiling inside than it is to make variants and ship both on demand, especially with the aforementioned problems affecting all parts of the auto industry.

that headline has been making the rounds but also neglects to mention that BMW offers this as a like "hey try this out and see if you like it" feature because you can permanently "unlock" (ugh) the feature for like 400-500$ which is what the upgrade would cost back in the day anyway.

sucks ass for sure knowing the thing is there and you could theoretically have it but also, yknow, reality of manufacturing cars in 2022 i guess.
