i think it was at portland for xoxo 2018, whichever one i hosted the art and code event, where i first tried describing time as number of plays of evanescence’s bring me to life (3:55 if i recall correctly). bless @potch for remaining my pal through this time period of having to parse what “i’ll be there in 5 bring me to lives” meant and not questioning why he had to do math to meet me for coffee.
the ways i work through the nerves of a large speaking engagement are unconventional and will probably only get more abstract now that i don’t drink alcohol anymore. some people switch what wrist they put their watch on as a brain exercise, and all the power to you’s!
