Also, given the words being shortened, “dubcon” should be pronounced “doobcon” and sounds like some kind of stoner convention (that I would totally go to).

massive yes to all of this! and not only is this a big yes, not only did this make at least one of us in here go "oh, that's hot" in a "this creature is five seconds from a major realization" way, but now we've got a story idea for something pretty cute that if we weren't already in the middle of writing something else we'd probably jump right onto. a+ post

Yeah, this is the kind of stuff we're generally into. Cradle's done a couple of microfic-ish things, and while they didn't include the details of the hypnosis, this is definitely what it was thinking of.

oh my, yes, this, whenever I come at something tagged "hypnosis" and it's the "I've got a hypnoapp, now you must do what I tell you (half the time they don't even show the person the app screen or anything)" I just sigh... that's so not the appeal to me... why make a hypnosis based story if you skip the hypnosis part??? use some magical glow/spiral/something if you don't want to write whole induction (I use it for one of my demons in my webcomic...) but give me... anything

Well, you Can mix tf and hypno to very satisfying effect. I work primarily with phantom sense stuff, because I'm not very physically close to any of my loved ones. It's a lot of fun to make someone feel like they're being made into rubber, or plush, or slime, or making them feel me playing with their tail or wings or what have you. It's not perfect of course, but hypno's useful for a lot more than just the typical obedience stuff~

Yes!!! This!! As a purveyor of hypnosmut for a LONG time, there has absolutely been a trend (in doujin, erotica, even just horny work) towards magical instant changes. Not to say there aren’t some fantastic authors writing really great stories right now but it seems like it’s become less common.

As a side note, in the minuscule chance you haven’t read it the Hailee Tales (#hailee_tales on ROM) series is a FANTASTIC example of realistic hypnosis, as are a lot of TravisNSpud’s works. The way their stories retain the magicalness of the hypnosis while revealing the practical implementation at the end is just so :chefs_kiss:

yes!! often with me and hypnosis, i always say that it's not about the destination, its about the journey. i love the induction process so much. just feeling your mind slowly slip away is soooo <3333 i REALLY wish it was represented more in media.

I admit I'm kind of the opposite. Tropish hypnosis can be potent enough for me that I actually don't even want to mess with a more realistic induction, at least not unless it's administered by someone I seriously trust.

I do hope you get a lot more of the smut you're looking for! I think you're right that it's surprisingly rare.
