i was thinking about this the other day! tell the player there's only one way to interact with an object but actually provide a path for them to disregard that, or something. i guess there's a plethora of games that do that though
The first time you come to a common interactable object, you're told that there's 4 steps you have to take to use it, and "the first 3 are the most important". Only step 4 actually does anything
