A nice thing about dating someone close to your age is that you might talk to it about anime and it will mention one you forgot the name of

So I'm watching Tokko because @Noxulous happened to bring it up. I don't think it's right to say I'm rewatching it, because I saw very few episodes back when it was on tv. I almost never freaking managed to catch every episode of an anime back then, and I'd usually only see a couple of them multiple times. Also my memory from back then is kinda bad, so I barely remember what I did see. I think the only anime I actually managed to watch all* of was Outlaw Star.

Anywahs. I have very few memories about Tokko, and mostly just remember the girl with antler shaped daggers and the unzipped jacket she wore (with nothing underneath). She, uh, made a big impression on me as a kid >.> (she's not the only thing I remember, to be clear)

So I just finished the first two episodes, and apparently they're all cops, which kinda sucks

Anime is just Japanese cartoons, so if you like animation you will probably enjoy anime.

But

A lot of anime is actual garbage, especially anything in the current Popular Genre. I think that genre is still isekai, but it might be shifting to something else from what I've seen. Most isekai are bad, basically.

You saying "picking back up" anime, so I'm going to assume you're already familiar with anime tropes and how they can be... distasteful at times due to certain Japanese cultural elements. If you can learn to put up with them, then yeah anime is nice.

Don't just watch whatever's new and popular tho, watch some old stuff, and more obscure stuff too. Like with any me media, you just gotta find stuff that appeals to your tastes, which can be hard sometimes.

Anime that I like off the top of my head: Outlaw Star, Cowboy Bebop, Read Or Die, Cyberpunk Edgerunners, High Rise Invasion, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, the first season of Symphogear
