So I hit a rough patch back in March/April of this year that created one of those endless cascades where every month I was running behind and barely able to stay on top of bills, and that lead to overdraft fees which made bills worse etc. I finally got to a point where between some well timed advances and help I was able to start driving for UberEats to make money, and it looked like everything would be fine.
Then at the start of this month I got sick, couldn’t drive for a while, and then got slapped with a very expensive medical bill for the tests needed for my illness. Today I learned my last advance is possibly held up for an unknown amount of time - it could arrive tomorrow, it could arrive in 2 weeks, I can’t wait around and gamble. I now am staring down some looming bills with the serious worry that I’ll end up back on that carousel just when I was about to get off it.
Hence, the mutual aid, but I am physically incapable of asking internet strangers for money without offering something in return. So what am I offering, you ask?

I’m not setting a hard “For every X, I’ll write Y” because I don’t want to end up with another strict schedule thing that’ll just resume my burnout. But if you donate $25 or more, you can name a monster or a kink and as long as it’s not something I’m uncomfortable with, I’ll try to write about it at some point this month.
