Because my classic fort got most of its population slaughtered by goblins and nothing was getting done anymore >.>

A little over a year and a half into this fort. I embarked into an evil biome near a goblin civilization. The evil seems pretty weak there, however, the only effect has been Devilish Smoke which isn't bothering my dwarves too much. Unfortunately I've only had two small waves of migrants, leaving my population at 14. Most of my dwarves are happy, with the exception of my Chief Medical Dwarf, who's in "a constant state of rage". She happens to worship a god of death and war, so I've been working hard to try to get her mood up.

Work is going slowly because of how few dwarves there are, but things are coming along. I've managed to get some temples up (because of the angry dwarf who gets a temple all to her own (she's the only worshipper)) and a tavern. Lots of bedrooms for if we ever do get more migrants. I'm really hoping that the next caravan will spread news of our progress and attract people. I'll need to start building defenses soon, it's only a matter of time before word gets out about our presence near goblin lands. All of the starting dwarves were trained in axedwarfship before setting out and we have many war dogs, so we're not completely defenseless.

Many of our dwarves have a need for excitement, and I feel like it's just around the corner.

Also, consider gelding your dogs before war training. One of them got mad and attacked the already angry dwarf. Everything's fine now, but I don't like that she keeps feeling "ferocious after remembering being attacked. This girl is going to be a problem.
