traded my monitor for goodwill store credit, which i used to get a sony boombox instead of another monitor (all the ones they had were either 4:3 or without cables)
then thanks to my roommate, we went to check out a local record store and i got some cheap CDs for it!
the albums i got (their prices were kinda... all over the place, so i stuck with ones sub $5):
- Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells 2003
- R.E.M. - Green
- Herbie Hancock - The Definitive Herbie Hancock (Ken Burns Jazz)
(they had a CD copy of Herbie Hancock's "Head Hunters" but it was $20. $20!!)
it's one of these fun late 90s alien-head boomboxes. currently listening to KMHD on it, and it sounds real nice!
the display is a little fucked, some lines don't work, but i can tell what's going on at least. i don't have any tapes to test that part but it probably needs a belt or something
well, i say *I* got the albums. it's more like my roommate offered to get me anything at or the same cost as the record they got which was 12 bucks. so instead of getting one $12 CD i got a bunch totalling up to $10
