Looks like there could be a lot of people at this event! Ive got a selection of 4 worlds that i think would work well - they're all light on performance and filesize, and they should all be quest compatible, but which sounds better for at least an initial instance? (Everyone is still able to make their own instances, so if you have a world that you think would be nice to hang out in, you can go ahead and make a group instance for that world!)

Futuronet 97
DΓ©rive Express
8-bit vacation bay
8-bit cyberpunk junction

I'll try my best to be there on time, but I have some unexpected errands to run, so ideally i should be there close to the event!

in reply to @UCVRCG's post:

it seems i have been hit with a bug and cannot join today.

it claims i have 2FA on but i should not. it even mails me a code to my VRChat email, but the code does not work.

i tried to set up 2FA march 2021 but wrote in my notes "setup is buggy, unable to set 2FA up right now" and then never did. perhaps it left my account in a strange state and it came back to haunt me in the few weeks since i last VRCed.

anyway, what bad timing. sorry i will miss y'all. (hope i can get my account back!)

I hopped in for a little bit and it was fun, thanks for organizing it! Never been in a VR Chat instance with other people before, so it was overwhelming but cool.

If there's a next time, I'll try connecting our Quest 1 to a PC; maybe it's easier to get the nerve to talk if you can see people's avatars and it's not freezing every few minutes. πŸ˜…

Yeah! If you can figure it out, being able to use the PC version is a much fuller experience.

I myself use a Quest 2 with Windows via the Quest app store's Virtual Desktop software, which I found well worth the $20. However you could also try Oculus Link (USB cable) or Oculus Air Link (Wi-Fi), both features that are built directly into the Quest. They both can work but offer fewer options to control the experience than VD. On the other hand, free.
