ok so turns out

weber weighs more than we were told (i didn’t actually weigh him until just now)
i also wasn’t multiplying his needed calories correctly for Age and Activity
he was actually being underfed (whoops)
his cries that We Never Feed Him were accurate

sorry weber. you will eat the correct amount now. i am sorry i failed you as a parent

This happened with my ex-roommate's cat. He was so solid and muscular that we all thought he was getting enough food, but after he stole a sandwich right out of my hand, we weighed him and upped his intake. At full grown size, he ended up needing something like 40% more than his older brother because of his build and energy
