oh also. watched the first episode of Revue Starlight and was honestly sort of blown away by it. i don't have a ton of opinions yet b/c i'm only one episode in but i'm def gonna keep watching it.

this fucking ruuuuuules oh man. stylish as hell throughout, doing really neat genre-fusion shit, leaning very heavily into the surreal dreamlike spectacle that it teased early on, treating some of the more fantastical elements of its otherwise grounded setting as A Given, really just Doing The Most at all times. i think i would like it anyway but as someone who was heavily involved in theater throughout school this shit is like catnip for me.

also: these bitches gay! good for them! good for them

Oh yeah, I love that show, tbh I found episode 4 kind of slow but the fight in episode 3 is so compelling I rewatched up to that point multiple times before finally finishing the whole show (and I'm glad I did finish it, tbc).

In my Masks podcast the character I play's fighting style is basically entirely based on that Karen vs Maya fight, summoning swords and also staircases she can run up and move around on, hahaha.

trying to guess which episode you mean and honestly it could be anything in the back half. E7 was incredible and terrifying and the way it developed from there just built it up even further

episode 7 is the one! it really just turns the entire series on its head just as you're getting used to the premise

i'm very excited for you to watch the movie. it's an absolute spectacle and legit one of the best anime movies i've seen in years
