gitlab’s code review interface is fucking awful, manages to slow down my entire computer for even a 5 file change, anything larger just makes things unusable.

is there some sort of alternative frontend i can use for this? i’ll even take an electron app if it performs at all better.

if there isn’t i might need to fuck around and write my own because it’s genuinely terrible

in reply to @jkap's post:

we are using their public instance; i don't have the time or energy to self-host that. ime it performs very poorly on almost all diffs and also routinely just Doesn't Work (links and buttons don't do anything, two line diffs on individual files will fail to load, comments get dropped on save) and this is replicable across multiple browsers and OS's. unsure if our repo is fucked somehow (doubt it, it's not a big repo) or what but it's straight up unusable sometimes.

guess i should clarify that the client performance is bad. backend performance is whatever (not great but also not that important) but the client frustrates me more since that has the ability impact other things

well, bitbucket fucked theirs up in the last year or so too, so I can't recommend that anymore. it used to be pretty nice in terms of being able to view commit-by-commit and file-by-file.
