something important to understand about all software is that it is powered by some sort of fucked up dream logic that, if you're lucky, turns intentions into the outcome you want. cohost is no exception to this, neither is fastly.
the good news is that i am getting a really good feel for fastly's dream logic and how they want you to configure things. the bad news is i know VCL now.
"jae isn't the migration in like an hour? why are you still working on this?"
i had forgotten to migrate over a single rule (the one that makes /favicon.ico not hit our server; during periods of high load this actually causes Some Problems for us) but got to do it in a BETTER WAY than i could with cloudflare! instead of just 404'ing it sends a redirect to the actual .ico file location on our server. AND i can change it dynamically if the path ever changes! wow!
