the phone i'd been using as a dev device is no longer working1. the tag input rewrite is blocked because i still can't verify if any of the changes i've made actually make a difference on android, which is the platform with All The Bugs there.
what should i buy to replace it. doesn't need to be a daily driver but needs to be good enough that i won't go insane using it for work.

despite being not that old and a Good Phone from a Good Brand, it never received any software updates, which is unfortunately par for the course with every android phone i've ever owned2.

qualifying as well that i was a full-time android user until 2014 and switched specifically because of shit like this. i am not talking shit as a Lifelong iOS User or w/e
