good news: the EAS test passed! my phone and weather radio both went off when they were supposed to!
bad news: at 4:45am
imo it's legitimately dangerous to run EAS tests this early. people who are woken up are incentivized to turn off alerts so that they don't have to deal with this shit, especially since the state is apparently scheduled to run the 4:50am tests every other month for the rest of the year.
i'm not gonna do this because i've gotten woken up in the middle of the night by "a tornado is actively on the ground" alerts multiple times, and i still want those. stupid-ass state.
