ok actually speaking of car design languages, my wife and i got a new (to us) car a few weeks ago (2021 mazda 6 w/ the 2.5t) and man that car kicks ass and looks so fucking good. also saw someone driving a current gen miata around the other day and that's also a damn good looking car???

i think mazda's current design language just kinda slaps. the side profiles especially are fucking great. here's some mazda 6 phone photos that my wife's reflection is visible in lmao

a really nice thing about this car is that my wife and i are both Car Sickos in the exact same way which means we have a near identical list of Mods We Want To Do (wheels and tires up first obvs) and i am so stoked to get going on all that

real good car. that was on our "would very much like to have" list but the real game changer for me is adaptive cruise control. florida is big, you have to drive everywhere, not having to get a fucking ankle injury dealing with constant acceleration and braking on I-75 is gonna be a fucking lifesaver

goddd i have a 2010 mazda3 and im planning on upgrading but i love my current car so much i might just go for a newer mazda 3/6 and this makes me go πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€

UNFORTUNATELY 2021 was the last year of the mazda 6 in the US (it's getting a big redesign apparently) BUT the current gen mazda 3 is also super fucking nice. the CX-30 was also on our list and was a good size (it's a crossover but my personal rule is Shorter Than Me and it met that) but we liked the 6 more lol

I used to own a Mazda3 GT S and that thing was cool as SHIT. Like one of the first gens of cars that had a holo speedometer, and it was just a piece of flip up glass that made you feel like you were driving a fighter jet.

New gen sedans have AWD, right? Their lineup is solid as hell.

i rag on the ND MX-5 a lot but god, Mazda's current design rules. not a fan of the SUVs/crossovers but if i ever bought a car that wasn't 20+ years old, it'd probably be a Mazda 3 or Mazda 6

in reply to @jkap's post:

I hear so many nice things about modern Mazdas! And you're bang on the mark about the MX-5, they're fantastic. Someone in my area has their ND2 MX5 wrapped (I think) in a gorgeous rich sunflower yellow and it brightens my day every time I see it.

Yeah i've developed a soft spot for mazdas ever since i rented one after a car totalling acccident (someone rear-ended my old saturn) and i got a Gently Used 2016 Mazda 3 which is pretty cool, only real downside is that it's white. I should have gotten the 2015 in blue that had more mileage but oh well

Fun fact: the only new car I have almost ever bought was a final year manual Mazda 6. The car was amazing, it handled and drove amazing, and I adore the design, and I only passed on buying it because the dealer was terrible and wanted to screw me on the loan
