for some reason i started getting e-mails from harbor freight every time they add a New Product. the e-mail subject is always "NEW PRODUCT ALERT" with no additional context. i don't know how i started getting these; i could unsubscribe but it's kind of fun to know that i could right now drive 10 minutes and buy an 8 inch heavy duty professional bench grinder for $199.99. it's got two extra wide adjustable eye shields for better protection against sparks. at a price like that, how could i say no?

Similar story, over a decade ago I gave my email to the website for a fancy auction house because they had a listing for a piece of art I couldn't find a good reference image of elsewhere on the internet and they had highish res images you could view if you had an account, I have never unsubbed from their spam just because it's such a fascinating window to the weird shit rich folks are selling to each other
