started playing Fallen London over the weekend, it's really neat, i'm becoming more ok with the Actions system as i go but it is still a bit disappointing to run out in the middle of a story and have to wait.
cool game, great writing (unsurprising for a game that is pretty much entirely about its writing), really enjoying what i've seen so far and looking forward to digging into everything more

doing the Light Fingers ambition! was interested in playing a thief character and that fits in nicely
i honestly really like the actions system in FL? the game's paced around only doing so much at once - much as it sucks to be In The Middle Of Something i'm always willing to go do something else for a while and come back when im good and ready, made a lot of parts land much better for me. without the actions system as it is Fallen London would end up feeling like an endless grindfest id burn myself out on really fast
yeah i've absolutely become more comfortable with the balance of grindfest vs. running out of actions, it was just Annoying when i first started. i'm normal now
fun somewhat relevant fact: The Silver Tree, an old FL side-game hosted on storynexus following the city that fell before London, had its own action limit basically removed basically forever ago - playing it feels like how FL would feel without actions
I do very much recommend subscribing if u can; it makes the game Better
as you may have guessed i am a big believer in paying for freemium software (almost like my income depends on people doing just that. who knew) so i actually already did lmao. the action cap increase is incredibly worth it on its own.

I play on and off. I like that it doesn't "move" when I'm inactive, unlike a lot of online games nowadays where things can happen when you don't log in enough. I take it at my own pace.
I played it hard hard core in 2020 and man! It's so good. The more people talk on cohost about it the more I get tempted to go back. Worth paying for for sure. Might be time to go back to my character that was endgame crunchy and Seek The Name....
sunless sea and fallen london are both absolutely unbreakable walls of, "what the hell how deep does this go?"
