i'm also investigating an issue i saw last night where sometimes certain notifications wouldn't show at all (most noticeable with comments). i think it's just an issue with pagination that means they're stuck in a void between pages but we'll see! it wasn't that but i figured it out and it will be in the batch today.
colin has reviewed it, i have merged it, it's deploying now. sorry for the inconvenience everyone. the cause was very dumb and i feel silly for not catching it (and for somehow not having a test for that """edge""" case, but i do now!!!!!!!!)
