someone developed a patch to prevent the game from kicking the players offline. there are two real 3dses running bots into eternity until they finally get kicked

There really is something beautiful about two CPUs racing each other on a life-support server until someone physically does something about it.
isn't it just peer-to-peer at this point? it sounds like the patch they developed just stops it from giving up on connection errors so they'll keep trying to connect to each other, but the matchmaking has already happened
as far as i'm aware nintendo does run the game on their own dedicated server, it's not just matchmaking servers. though if anyone reading this knows better than i do feel free to prove me wrong
