it's SO good, and unlike anything else I've seen. watching it in a theater full of queer and trans people was a blessing
it was such a fuckin incredible theater experience. i’m so glad it got even the limited release that it’s getting because i genuinely feel like everyone needs to see this movie. genuinely tragic that a home release is as unlikely as it is.
I'm gonna do everything I can to try and get a copy so I can do home showings. hope thats a possibility someday. but also I can't wait to see what Vera and people inspired by her do next
so many people i've talked to after seeing it have just been like "i am inspired to make more weird trans art" and that's the ideal reaction. i love weird trans art.
God that movie blew all my expectations out of the water. Also suddenly seeing Alec Robbins and his lovingly animated wife Betty Boop on the big screen in a real movie theatre was such a surreal feeling
he appeared on screen and someone towards the front of my screening said “oh fuck yeah!” i think way louder than they intended. the mr boop stans are real. also love that betty was listed in the credits as “mr. boop’s wife.” i was genuinely surprised they showed her
