3: i think the testing floor is what created Ms. Casey! like Irv was perhaps a prototype for Severance and Ms. Casey is perhaps a prototype for Permanent Severance- my called shot is that either Lumon caused the car accident (to acquire mark for some reason?) or they merely recovered Gemma from the accident and then severed Gemma off from Ms. Casey completely in order to "save her life" - i.e, Ms. Casey is a perma-innie, like i think Cobel is, but doesn't actually leave Lumon. I realize you pretty much already said this but i just like thinkin about it
yeah i definitely think ms. casey was recovered from the crash (and i would very much assume she is not alone in that), given what she says about being only a hundred or so hours old (the number in my head is 107 but idk if that's correct and i don't wanna go back to check) i do wonder what sort of state she's in the rest of the time. probably not great!
and i hadn't really thought about cobel as being severed before. much to think about
i think cobel was severed as an act of religious devotion :)
also i completely forgot about casey being 100 hrs old. i wonder if she only comes out for "wellness"
that is an entirely plausible cobel theory given everything else we know about her. ALSO INTERESTING i read the tie-in ebook that is Canon (it's here) and it references a lumon feeding tube scandal, which gives some context to that part of her shrine. lot going on there!
yeah casey talks about the day she was monitoring helly as being the longest continuous time she's been awake so i think she's generally only out for wellness sessions and on the testing floor the rest of the time. wack!
I figure they grabbed gemma for weird experiment reasons but mark applied on his own and they saw it as a great opportunity to test the limits of severance.
Me and Xeecee have a big theory that irving's dad who was in the navy was an original mkultra/tuskeegee experiment type subject and it killed him/made him weird
