thursday! patch notes! light week this week because there’s some Big stuff in here! colin’s internet was out yesterday and jae’s hands stopped working so we’re late but whatever! here’s what’s new:
- you can now change your page handle!
- visit your page settings!
- limited to one change per page per day so try to avoid typos
- this required a fairly substantial refactor to become possible but we did it!
- added private user notes for individual pages
- fixed a bug where pinned tags would appear on private pages
- made more behind the scenes changes to our moderation tooling
- accidentally broke the entire website while trying to fix the bug around getting logged out too quickly
- good news is it’s fixed now
here’s what’s coming up:
- jae: two things
- pay-what-you-want for cohost plus
- performance improvements on posts with lots of comments
- colin: 2fa (two-factor authentication)!
- bofa deez factors lol
- jess: “hide this post” button, so you can hide copies of posts you’re tired of seeing!
- kara: Operation Firehose (clearing out the entire support ticket backlog)
- aidan: supporting Operation Firehose with new support articles and finishing up the Cohost Design System Mark II (a standardized version of the design system we’ve been working from since the Mobile Redesign)
- this had been a bit neglected before, due to the not-having-a-support-expert thing. since that’s no longer the case, it’s getting picked up again!
- aidan might also be working on some more secret and perhaps... plush… things. no comment, though
heads up that we’ll be out on monday (it’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day in the US, both a federal holiday and a corporate holiday) but we’ll be back on tuesday!
