REMINDER THAT WE LAUNCH ON JUNE 28! we know you’re all excited (we are too) but please wait until you see an all-clear from us before you say anything publicly! we would really appreciate y’all saying something publicly once you can though!

ADDITIONAL REMINDER that you will all receive 10 invites prior to the 28th! give them out to people you know! please don’t post them publicly or sell them! selling them is actually Expressly Prohibited and if you do it we will send eggbug to your house to teach you a lesson! no one wants that!

  • aidan has been inventing New Types of Guy at a fevered pace this past week and we love them and are very excited for you to see them.
• you will now be Warned on every page if your account is temporarily read-only while we investigate reports
• you will now be redirected to a special page with an Exclusive Eggbug if you’re banned
  • please don’t try to get banned just to see the special eggbug
• fixed a fairly big security TODO (a hardcoded secret used to encrypt your session cookie) that had been in place since before COVID. you may have been logged out because of the fix, but your password and any other data you’ve shared with cohost are safe.
• got some Metrics in place so we can more easily determine things like “when will we be Sustainable” and “how many posts are there”
• added a note when you’re creating a page reminding you that you can email us if you want more editors on that page. (do you want more editors on any of your pages? email us.)
• added Exclusive Avatar rules so that staff can use Eggs and only early users can use Capsules
  • capsules are exclusive because they reference an early site bug and new users just Wouldn’t Get It.
  • we might make some new shapes exclusive to cohost Plus! subscribers down the line
• welcomed some new users to the site as part of our unactivated user testing
  • also added some new admin tooling to let us bulk activate users!
