i made so much art for this game considering how little of it we were able to actually play

this piece is featured in beloved zine issue 03: FLESH!
when i was thinking about what to make for this issue, i landed on the weird intense themes in THE DYBBUK - in my initial brainstorm page where i ideated khonen as a butch yeshiva student, i wrote:
"things that are v homosexual: possessing the body of ur beloved; being fuckin batshit + doing satanic alchemy to be w/the girl u like"
other things to note in this - the text is from shir ha'shirim (song of songs). in the double-page layout, the text reads from right to left (as in hebrew)
there was so much more that i wanted to do in this piece but sometimes you have to cut yourself off! the dybbuk is such a good and weird film

Once it is out I want to put out something longer about this piece but it is a butchfemme take on the Jewish tale of the dybbuk, pulling from imagery from the 1930s film, text from shir hashirim, and the story’s themes of possessive, obsessive love that borders on insanity.
