my main issue with cohost at the moment is just not being able to easily drag media into it. on twitter/tumblr i can just drop a video in, or paste an image. the video part in particular seems expensive to do, but i hope they do it because i like to share my game dev junk a lot

afaik, just youtube embeds. Given how horrendous twitter was quality wise, I don't actually mind that. You can wait until YT has a thorough pass reencoding at a decent quality before posting.
Twitter's vid quality was basically fine for me for most purposes. What it did to gifs was pretty buckwild though
Yeah, slinging stuff up on yt was going to be my goto. Either that or just bake everything out to gif, but that's more annoying 
Yeah, by the time I find the right mix of gif quality vs size, youtube would be ready to roll. But I'd still use it for tiny loops.

I respect the need to keep filesizes down if they're trying to keep the platform as non-corporate and unmoneyed as possible, but curious to see if they can make it work.
