been playin' "plague tale innocence"

and i dunno how i barely ever heard of it. it's good! and always such a pleasure to play something with good voice performances where the actors seem to have had context for every line. they haven't fucked up the emphasis once!

that's so incredibly rare in games. eeeevery fuckin game has at least a million examples of an actor putting the emPHASis on the wrong syLABles to the point where i will p much play anything if it doesn't do that

I remember a funny example of that emphasis thing is in the Spyro remakes; the lines are almost unchanged from the originals and several of the original actors returned, but the dialogue still winds up with different delivery sometimes that changes the feel of the lines. For the most part it's subjective if the new delivery is better or worse I think, but one level does have a clear issue in the remakes with this: Crystal Islands, which have a stage magic theme.
Essentially, you need to talk to magicians who open up temporary pathways, and one highlights how magic is misdirection- so he'll start up the whirlwind over there. In the original line, there's emphasis on over there, since he's starting it far away from him, but that's removed in the remake so the gag doesn't work anymore. Maybe because the script in both versions doesn't have any commas in that line? Though I'm not sure why they would either choose to change the delivery or not check the original for reference, since it just makes the line more strange than it probably should be.
