i think against all odds, youtube might have got nicer over the past like 10 years. people are always commenting "thank you for saying/sharing/making this" even on my little 10 second prototype vids. this didn't used to happen! and i hardly ever see people having stupid venomous little arguments in the comments anymore

My comments are overwhelmingly positive. I get a thousand comments on every video and perhaps five are in any way negative. I get a mean comment a couple times a year.
