kind of a weird niche request but i want social sites to have options to like, quietly disallow someone from following you without blocking or necessarily muting them. for when i don't want to exile someone from my entire existence but i don't want them getting any closer
and when they click "follow" it looks like they followed me but it doesn't go through or something. basically the mastodon experience
I'd call it Twitter experience - I follow someone but don't see their post because the algorithm decides other things are more interesting
I want like an "insecurity mode", where if someone makes a post that could be interpreted as a subtweet they can privately tag who they're subtweeting, so that, for anyone who has insecurity mode on, it will say, "don't worry, it's not about you" and maybe there's like a hug emoji or something.
