it's unreal talking to Offline people who wanna talk about the Chinese balloon and not the horrible chemical death cloud train. I dunno, stuff just does not enter their world
As far as I can tell, Cohost hasn't really taken on the "news" aspect of Twitter as much as some other platforms, which is good in the sense that I don't think every space needs to be that way or should be, but it's a bit of an issue if it's your only form of social media.
If you're looking for that aspect of Twitter then Mastodon and to some extent Tumblr (surprisingly) seem to have absorbed more of it.
Yeah I mean I think my exposure to news on Twitter was one of the toxic things about it - making me feel powerless and outraged at the same time. So I'm not sure I'm looking to replace that exactly, even if I do miss aspects of it. Basically I want the good parts (feeling like I'm getting exposed to lots of stuff from Good viewpoints) and not the bad
