hooray we avoided global financial catastrophe (for a little while) (while rewarding the people who caused the danger) (without any effort at a structural fix)
They truly are happiest as a perpetual minority party, because then they can run all kinds of money raising BS "to fight back" all while having no real expectation to do anything.
When in power they have to find every opportunity to not do things, compromise, or just full on cut out their own footing, because their owners don't want them to actually do things actual people want.
Hate it so much.
