I'm pretty certain I got this for leaving a bad review on Brew Barons due to its AI voice acting, becuase obviously steam's userbase is going to be petulant about that, but valve, you don't really need to shove their reaction in my face like this
I'm a game developer, professionally!
You may know me from things like: Where the Water Tastes Like Wine, The Museum of Mechanics: Lockpicking, Gone Home, Bioshock 2, or maybe something else.
Right now I work as a Technical Narrative Designer at Remedy Entertainment in Stockholm, Sweden
Perhaps there are other aspects of my personality that may also be revealed here on this website

I still don't get why they even added these awards to Steam reviews, they're entirely used for stuff like this and never add anything useful
I got a bunch of these for ages for leaving a comment after a bunch of people whined about a self-destructive act being taken out of Superhot. The hilarious thing is you get points for these in Steam's Cosmetics Shop. So I have just a ludicrous amount of points now and can buy any account theme, emote, etc. I want thanks to them.
Oh, and I can leave nice awards on reviews /posts / etc. I like, paying it forward.
There is literally a culture of people running around making comments specifically to farm the Jester emote, and their profiles brag about how many they've gotten. Valve is so incredibly bad at everything they do, but have the money to keep doing it forever, since they're PC's gaming landlord.
i made the mistake of posting about it in the forum to warn people and the dev responded with 'we're little birthday boys' and i got a bunch of these from random assholes.
it's also sometimes awarded to people who hurl abuse in ways their peers find "funny", like schoolyard bullies. super cool that valve has gamified forms of abuse they will never be on the receiving end of.
